Tangled Fairytale
Our 2026 play, written by local Lynn McDonald, is called “Tangled Fairytale”. It is about three tales that get mixed up and need to be untangled. We will be inviting audience participation from adults and children.
Rehearsals are well underway for this summer’s presentation of “Tangled Fairytale”, but help is still needed:
- Music accompaniment: Either a live musician with some ability to play background effects and interludes, or a “DJ” to play recorded cues and effects.
- Players for Sophie and Jackie: we have lost one principle performer, and are looking for either two young teens or two young at heart adult to fill two roles.
- Costumer: Some fairly simple costumes need to be assembled or created. A great opportunity for some creativity with fabric!
- Props and backstage: A great opportunity to join in the fun behind the stage with props and simple stage setting.
If any of these intrigue you, contact us.
About Story Theatre
Story Theatre is happy to create and perform on the traditional, unceded, and ancestral territories of the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation and the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation).
Story Theatre is a playful group of community members who enjoy presenting stories through acting, sound effects, props, and costumes! We travel the Sunshine Coast to visit different communities, delighting audiences with our 30-minute play. The plays are performed outdoors, with minimal sets and costumes, giving young and young-at-heart audiences a taste of live theatre’s magic.

Driftwood Players, Story Theatre is grateful to the community and our sponsors: the SCRD, District of Sechelt and the Province of British Columbia.
