Sunshine Coast Driftwood Players, a
registered non-profit society, has been entertaining audiences on
the Sunshine Coast for over 40 years. During that time audiences
have sat in the Heritage Playhouse, as well as in school gyms,
church and community halls, restaurants, malls, parks, and streets.
Driftwood Players continues to support the development and
accessibility of theatre on the Sunshine Coast. The organization has
three branches: 1. the Driftwood MainStage, offering high quality
stage productions, 2. the Driftwood Theatre School, teaching classes
for children and adults, and 3. Driftwood Players Story Theatre, an
outdoor public theatre troupe that tours over the summer. The
branches occasionally overlap for special ‘Pop-Up’ events in the
community (such as the ‘Historical Walking Tour’ of lower Gibsons,
or the ‘Downton Abbey’ fundraising teas). Driftwood Players also
operates ‘The Costume Shoppe’ in lower Gibsons, offering a wide
selection of costumes for rent. Driftwood Players is proud to work in collaboration with other local organizations, including the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives, the Sunshine Coast Grandmothers and Grandothers, the Sechelt Activity Centre's Chair Actors, and the Sechelt Downtown Business Association. To continue bringing
quality theatre, Driftwood Players welcomes your support. We invite
you to consider becoming a member, helping to keep you connected to
your local theatre news, as well as offering opportunities to
participate in upcoming productions, both on and off stage.
Membership fees are $20.00 per year, due at the commencement of AGM
held in January; however, membership fees paid on or after October 1
will count for both the current year and the following year. Donations to the Driftwood Theatre School can be made out directly
